Mini-series Interlude

At the moment there is a lot going on in my life – too much all at once for my liking, to be honest . A few definite big changes (never pleasant!) and a few possible big changes (not sure which is worse!)

I want to do my mini-series justice, so I am having a little interlude in until I’m able to give it my full attention and really do it justice.

So, in the mean time, here is a very apposite poem I wrote some time last year, in the midst of very big changes and an onslaught of anxiety.

Wave after Wave

It's a lump in the throat,

A concrete belly.

A blanket of lead

And legs like jelly.

It's a pounding heart

With missing beats

A ragged breath

And eyes that leak.

It's a wide-awake nightmare

An unborn cry

It's sweaty palms,

And a galloping mind.

It's clenched fists

It's a stumbled step

And wave after wave

After wave of dread

I’m busy holding on, and that’s good enough for me right now.

I hope you’re all keeping well and staying strong.  Whatever is happening for you right now, don’t forge: there is, always, hope!
